The Guest House is a home-like 12 bedroom bungalow providing short and long-term respite care from a few hours in a day to a couple of weeks on a 24-7 basis.
The program is designed for individuals with early to mid-stage dementia, and provides needed relief for the family caregiver.

The Alzheimer Society of Ottawa, Carefor Health and Community Services and the Perley and Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre have partnered to develop and operate this innovative and much-needed option for respite care. The Guest House has been built on the grounds of the Perley Rideau at 1750 Russell Road in Ottawa, and opened for clients in March 2007.

The Guesthouse provides apartment-like accommodation for a few days or for a few weeks, up to 90 days per year.

The daily cost is $39.34, with a $20.00 fee for a stay of less than 5-1/2 hours. Guests may stay for a total of 90 days per year.
