Manager, Resident Care

Reporting to the Director of Nursing, the Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day provisions of all care programs for 160 residents/clients. The Manager, with the support of the Clinical Supervisor and Personal Support Worker (PSW) Supervisor, is responsible for providing leadership and operational management through a presence and visibility on the Resident Care units. Through clinical leadership, mentoring and coaching to achieve comprehensive and integrated care planning, the Manager ensures high quality care is consistently delivered to its valued residents. This role will lead and implement numerous Quality Improvement initiatives, and will support clinical and operational priorities, all in adherence to the Long-Term Care Homes Act, Accreditation and Professional Standards. They will also be integral in managing relationships with residents and family members.

The ideal candidate will be a talented, results- and quality-oriented nurse leader, with strong interpersonal, team-building and communications skills. Possessing a BScN is required, combined with a minimum of 5 years progressive experience in leading and coaching teams through continuous improvement and organizational development. Advanced knowledge in long term care, and geriatric and dementia care would be key skills, as would previous leadership experience working in a unionized environment.
