Chief Financial Officer, The Perley and Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre
The Perley and Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre includes one of the largest long-term care homes in Ontario, focused on the needs of seniors, providing quality care, with a unique responsibility to veterans and seniors in the community. Centrally located near hospitals with courtyards, gardens, walking paths, and many places for residents to spend time with friends and family, the Perley Rideau has transformed itself into a Seniors Village and continues to seek innovative solutions in order to meet the evolving needs of its residents.
Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Financial Officer is the key architect, driver, and implementer of the Perley Rideau’s financial and business strategy. You provide strategic financial and business advice to support the organization’s overall financial health, performance and long-term sustainability. You work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to identify new business opportunities and partnerships that will allow the Perley Rideau to extend its reach and service offerings across the region. You lead and provide mentorship to a dedicated team, promoting a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and accountability. You provide support and guidance to the Board’s Audit & Risk Management Committee around issues, trends, and changes in financial operating models and operational delivery.
As the ideal candidate, you are a respected financial leader with a track record of success providing strategic and business counsel at the executive and Board tables, well beyond the lens of finance. You are described by your peers and colleagues as an entrepreneurial, dynamic, innovative-thinker who challenges the status quo with the goal of driving value, performance and growth. You possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and have the ability to manage key relationships with stakeholders at the local and provincial level. Your expertise across the full spectrum of financial management and leadership (i.e. risk management, budgeting, taxation, forecasting, regulatory reporting, Board reporting, and financial controls) is critical to your success in this role. Your team orientation and collaborative, professional approach will serve you well, as will your ability to lead, coach and mentor a team of professionals.
