The Perley and Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre is one of Ontario’s largest and most innovative long-term care homes. Located on a 25-acre campus, it is a unique Seniors Village with 450 long-term care beds, 139 independent-living apartments, and a growing number of clinical, therapeutic and recreational services available on-site. We are seeking motivated and team-oriented individual for the position of:
LEAD HAND – PROPERTY SERVICES
This position involves repairs and maintenance of laundry and kitchen equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations through consultation of maintenance manuals, diagrams and sketches. Trouble shoot problems related to the operation of the kitchen, laundry, HVAC equipment and other related building systems and take corrective action as needed. Operates and performs maintenance duties to the physical plant equipment to ensure its continued safe and efficient operation. Inspects and verifies fire protection equipment to ensure compliance with provincial standards. Assigns and monitors work performed by Property Services personnel. Ensures appropriate action is taken to correct operational deficiencies and contacts suppliers and contractors for service on equipment.
Candidates must have a Fourth Class Operating Engineer Certificate. Demonstrated ability in the maintenance and repair of various types of equipment (including but not limited to: laundry and kitchen equipment, HVAC and building system equipment). Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities in emergency situations.
A Police Check (vulnerable sector) is also required for this position.
