Doris joined Perley Rideau in 2007. During a career as a Registered Nurse that has spanned more than 30 years, Doris has worked in a variety of sectors ranging from acute and community care to retirement and long-term care settings. She holds Certificates in Continuing Care Nursing from St. Francis Xavier University and a Certificate in Adult Education from Acadia University. Continually pursuing career development, Doris completed the University of Ottawa Telfer School of Management Health Care Leadership Program and the IDEAS (Improving & Driving Excellence Across Sectors) quality improvement program, a collaboration of government, professional bodies and long-term care leaders.
A passionate advocate for nurses, professional practice and the implementation of best practices, Doris created and led the Champlain LHIN LTC Director of Nursing Group. She is an active member of the Long Stay Expert Panel of Champlain LHIN, Palliative Care Initiative 1 Group and the Champlain Behavioural Support System Steering Committee.
Doris is a proud Maritimer, military wife and mother.
