At a special event hosted by United Way on May 29, 2014, The Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre and Bruyere Continuing Care received the 2014 Community Builder of the Year 'Belonging to Community Award'. This award recognizes an organization that is working to improve conditions for vulnerable people, including seniors, immigrants and people with disabilities to contribute fully to their communities.
Rabbi Reuven Bulka, C.M. also received a the "Community Builder Award - United Way Ambassador".
